You might think I haven't posted for a while because I've been incredibly busy ... but you would be very, very wrong. I have been doing a great big bucket of nothing. AND LOVING IT.
First, I would like to say THANK YOU to Angela for the birthday wishes; I had an excellent bday with my family, who graciously ate a vegetarian meal without complaining.
Also, "Brendan Fraser" has been in contact again, but this time: PRESENTS!
These are hilarious!
On the left: mummy earrings
On the right: mummy head soap
I got another postcard that 'fessed up on the Brendan Fraser thing, but still didn't give me an identity. Then I got a card that says, "In a recent post you seemed kind of down. So I decided to try to bring you back up." That is totally the kind of compassionate, thoughtful gesture that would never even occur to me. Thank you, Secret Someone!
I knit a pair of socks in four days. I have a giant blister on one of my fingers; seriously, it is a hideous disfigurement. You'll have to take my word for it, though, because I don't have a picture.
Anyway, here are the socks:
These are my usual toe-up over 60 stitches on size US2 needles. The yarn is Opal Rainforest, Ladybug. Please notice how my legs are not the almost-neon white that they usually are.
Every day I have been telling myself, "I'm going to go to the school and get my room ready." And every day I have found a reason to stay home; sure, sometimes the reason was, "I'm very comfortable on this couch," but ... hey, that's a darn good reason! Tomorrow, though, I definitely have to go, unless I want to start school with bare bulletin boards and the desks all in disarray. Also, somehow I have an extra computer in my room. Where did it come from? Why do I have it? This is something I need to investigate discreetly, because if it actually belongs somewhere else, it will disappear. And I can use that computer!
To close, here is a picture I took in the spring. I just think it's pretty.

I have the same excuse for not blogging.
I stopped by my school this week and I am so not ready to go back. We have 3 in-service days before school starts, so I am not worried.
Glad you have had a good summer.
So, what's the matter with having a "naked" classroom? I'm going to cut back on my decorating by 50%. I'm still trying to decide where I'll put those two posters. :)
sounds like a most excellent summer! don't stop doing nothing just yet, though. big school stuff can wait. :)
