Secret Pal Questionnaire

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like? I like soft yarns; the fiber doesn't matter so much, as long as it isn't scratchy or squeaky. The best ones I've worked with are merino and alpaca. I don't like the 100% cotton yarns like Sugar 'N Cream, because knitting them hurts my wrists.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in? I keep my dpns in a pencil pouch, the kind that can be snapped into a binder. My straight and circular needles go in an old-fashioned Quaker Oats box.

3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced? I've been knitting almost three years. I learned from one of those Teach Yourself Knitting Kits. I'd call myself an advanced beginner, maybe intermediate.

4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list? I have an Amazon wishlist.

5. What's your favorite scent? It varies, usually by season. I love lavendar in all seasons, but now that spring is coming I have been going crazy for peach scents.

6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy? My favorite candy is gummy bears.

7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin? Just knitting!

8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) I've always loved the 80s (even before VH1 did).

9. What's your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can't stand? My favorites are purple and green. There aren't any colors I can't stand, though I'm getting a little tired of pink.

10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? I am a spinster lady with a cat. Don't judge me.

11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos? erm ... not right now, I don't. I'm fixing to start making some hand- and armwarmers, though.

12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit? I like small, easy to finish projects. I've been doing some knitting for my niece (who is brand new!) (and the reason I'm tired of pink). For myself, I like to knit socks.

13. What are you knitting right now? Baby things and socks.

14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts? Of course!

15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic? I like metal needles; they are the pointiest, and that's what I need. I prefer circular needles for garments and dpns for socks.

16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift? No, I don't.

17. How old is your oldest UFO? Almost a year old. It's the Green Gable from Zephyr Style. It's not that I don't like it; it's just that I have the knitting ADD.

18. What is your favorite holiday? Thanksgiving.

19. Is there anything that you collect? Miniature cream pitchers (I inherited the collection from my late grandmother).

20. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have? So I've heard a lot about Socks That Rock ...
I have a subcription to Interweave that came from my SP8.

21. Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn? Just finishing techniques. I am not so great with the finishing.

22. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements? I do knit socks. I wear a US size 8.
