I don't party. It's too much work, I think. I like to be around people I already know, so I don't have to deal with that awkward small talk, and I like to play games that I can dominate are fun for everyone.
That is why, on New Year's Eve, I practically threatened Joon so I could stay in with the Beignet. Two babies babes seeing out the old year together, each with our separate bottles, only one of which was filled with alcohol (that Beignet can hold her liquor, I'll tell you what).
I got to spend New Year's with someone I love, and that is more than some people can say.
I'm a spinster schoolmarm with a degree in English; I watch artsy movies about British people; I knit while watching the History Channel; I listen to NPR in the car; I eat frozen dinners on the couch.
Is that stereotypical enough for you?
Well, then ... and I have a cat.
