Looming

So last week the assistant principal says to me, "Ms. Flower, how would you feel about teaching a freshman English class next year?"










In my lifetime I have

-climbed a mountain
-quit my job without a new one waiting ... three times
-been attacked by a rabid deer
-gotten a tattoo
-taken a translatlantic flight in the wake of 9/11
-vacationed in a foreign city by myself
-driven past Adams, Tennessee, the home of the Bell Witch, at midnight
-walked downtown in a giant city at night by myself
-caught a man stealing jeans at WalMart
-had my shower explode on me
-had knee surgery

But this? This might be the scariest thing I've ever faced.
