I Get Around

The following map shows all the places I've been in the United States.

I have lived in these states:
Florida
Louisiana
Missouri
New York
Tennessee
Virginia

The one state that I have been solely by complete and total accident is Indiana. I don't mean that in a derogatory way: I'm just saying that I went there but I didn't mean to.

It was a while back when the St. Louis Cardinals were in the playoffs for the first time in several years. I was driving from St. Louis to Nashville, and there was all sorts of construction on the roads, so it was confusing to begin with. This was also before the Strattera Era (hee), so I was of course not really paying attention to any teeny tiny little road signs that there may or may not have been (to this day, I don't know).

So I'm driving along, and all of a sudden I think, "Hey, I don't think I drove this far along the interstate last time." (Because, sadly, this was not even the first time I had made this trip). And then about an hour later, I see a sign that says:
WELCOME TO INDIANA.

And I knew I was screwed.

I did eventually find my way back to the correct interstate, but it involved a long drive that took me through Bowling Green--where I'd never been--and then a jaunt past Adams, Tennessee, which is the home of the Bell Witch and I drove past there at approximately 120 MPH. It could have been faster, but my speedometer only goes so high (and I'm not kidding. I'm scared of the Bell Witch).

So that is the one and only time I've ever been to Indiana. I'm sure it's a very nice state though. Someday I may go back, if I get lost again.

ETA: Hmmm ... I guess I HAVE been to New Hampshire, since there seems to be no other way to get to Maine by land. I'm much too lazy to redo that map though, so you'll have to use your imagination.
