Perfect Example

During last period, a student told me, "We talked about you in English today."

I was immediately suspicious. She must have seen it on my face.

"We were discussing verbal irony."

Well. Verbal irony is when a person says one thing and means another. Basically, it's a fancy way of saying sarcasm.

When I relayed this information to other teachers on my hallway, they laughed. "That's you: the walking display of verbal irony."

And I guess I can't argue with that ... unless I wanted to be ironic. Verbally.
